# Use it with AI agents

> Give Claude, ChatGPT, n8n or your own agent the ability to check phone numbers.

Any agent that can make an HTTP request can use this API. It needs your API key and the OpenAPI spec, which describes every endpoint, parameter and response.

## What to give your agent

| | |
| - | - |
| Base URL | `https://mobileintelapi.com` |
| Auth | Header `X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY` |
| Required header | `User-Agent`, any real value like `my-agent/1.0` |
| OpenAPI spec | [docs.mobileintelapi.com/openapi.json](https://docs.mobileintelapi.com/openapi.json) |

## Claude, ChatGPT and other agents

Most agent builders can import an OpenAPI spec as a tool (for example, custom GPT actions, or an HTTP tool in your agent framework). Import the spec, set both headers, and the agent can call the endpoints by name.

A prompt that works well:

```text theme={null}
You can check US and Canadian phone numbers with the Mobile Intel API.
- One number: GET /api/v1/verify?number=... (encode + as %2B, or send 10 digits).
- Many numbers: POST /api/v1/verify with {"numbers": [...]}, up to 2,000 per call.
- Read verdict (valid / risky / invalid) and reasons.
- The carrier is the one the number was first given to. Ported numbers can
  show the old carrier. It does not tell you if the phone is switched on.
```

## n8n, Make and Zapier

Use the HTTP Request node or step:

1. Method `POST`, URL `https://mobileintelapi.com/api/v1/verify`.
2. JSON body `{"numbers": [...]}` built from your previous step.
3. Headers `X-API-Key` (store it as a credential) and `User-Agent`.
4. Match results to your rows by position: result `i` belongs to number `i`.

## Docs MCP server

These docs have their own MCP server at `https://docs.mobileintelapi.com/mcp`. Connect it and your coding agent can search these docs while it writes your integration. It searches the docs only; it doesn't call the API.

```bash theme={null}
claude mcp add --transport http mobileintel-docs https://docs.mobileintelapi.com/mcp
```

In Claude, Cursor or VS Code, add it as a custom MCP server with the same URL.

## Read these docs from your agent

Every page here is also available as Markdown. Add `.md` to any page URL, or point your agent at [/llms.txt](https://docs.mobileintelapi.com/llms.txt) for the whole list. The menu at the top of each page can copy it or open it in ChatGPT or Claude.
